The last ten minutes of this hour were spent being eternally pissed off at Dreamhost because my website hasn’t loaded in the past three days, yet the server status website notes that everything’s fine! I can’t get into my control panel, even, to send a note of complaint and utter disrespect for a service which up until now has been very good to me, but to which I no longer feel like giving away my money. Because three days and no explanation? Kind of ridiculous.

Anyway, I’m still going on with my 24 hour challenge even though I forgot about it until 11am this morning and I can’t update my book blog with any of my thoughts. If the server ever comes back I might have to interrupt my 24 hours of reading by backing up all of my website files. I’m hoping that reading this book about witches and folklore will bring my brain back to a state of calm, because this uneasy feeling in my chest that I’m being screwed over and will possibly lose all of my domain files… again… isn’t the most comfortable feeling.

Speaking of, I haven’t read a book by Anne Rice in over a year, and I’m really enjoying the change of pace. Most of the books I’ve read between have been very quick to spit out the story and the important messages, ending within 400 pages or so and without leaving a very lasting impression. Anne Rice books, though extremely slow to start, are very detailed and intricate in description, so even though it’s long, slow reading, it leaves dents on the mind, rather than just general plotlines.
